Microfilm/microfiche vs internet activity

Talking about microfilm vs. microfiche. which do you prefer? images in a roll or images in a plate?

what about storing images on the internet? which is most preferable? which is more safe or protected?

  1. I only had to look through microfilm for my news article. It was a little tricky to set up in the machine and the controls could be a little difficult from time to time, but it wasn’t bothersome.
    Searching on the internet is much more easier and gratifying. Images are in color and often in very good quality.
    Both mediums can easily get lost, wither to the giant space web or somewhere in a storeroom or closet. Both have pros and cons, so I enjoy using both. 🙂

  2. I would have to agree that both are good mediums to store content. The internet has the better picture quality but when you are researching news articles the story is what you are looking at. I would prefer the microfilm because the article (once it has reached that point) is not going to change. If there is a mistake it’s there for you to see. The internet also does not have articles as they were printed in the 1970s and 60s. If taken care of its a medium that lets you see what someone from that time period would have seen and I think that it allows less distraction.
